We finally succeeded in organizing the third edition of Lighting Design Campus!
After a stop of three years, we have been able to invite our clients to attend our event on 4 and 5 July 2023.
The delegation was formed by shipyards representatives, interior designers, contractors, lighting designers, lighting engineers, arriving from The Netherlands, Turkey, UK, and Italy of course.
Two intense days of presentations, visits, interactions in order to better explore the world of lighting and lighting design.
As usual, we started showing our mechanical workshop, to show our guests our modus operandi, and the practical operations we daily carry on in order to produce luminaires and switches and sockets plates.
It was already a very hot day in Tuscany, and our guests had travelled early in the morning…therefore our lunch break needed to be special, also to start knowing each other better, and here we go, On Beach!
The afternoon session on Lighitng Design has started with LightScene Studio, and Keivan Esmaeily’s presentation on Human wellbeing approach: lighting instruments in hospitality design.
Keivan Esmaeily is a Lighting Designer & Electrical Engineer, worked as technical lighting designer in many exterior, architectural, and landscape lighting projects, besides working as a technical lighting designer specialized in naval projects. He is an assistant professor in Politecnico di Milano for lighting workshops in Interior design master.
After a debate among all attendees, it was the time for Giovanni Varone of Videoworks to hold his presentation on Light Engineering Comfort Control, thanks to his role of Yachting Systems Engineering Manager.
Time for discussion and finally relax!
And the day was not finished yet, a super dinner in a unique venue was waiting for us.
A challenge, for the brave guests, a surprise for everyone when reaching the top of the hill, and the sight widened to seaside and horizon…no words, just experience!
Rural landscapes, olive groves, hills fading down to coast, silence.
The joy of sharing the beauties of our land, the unmissable human and personal touch we really care for at Palagi Marine Lights.
Fantastic food and location, Il Cavaticcio!
We enjoyed Moonrise and the end of the day was really magic.
We started the second day of our Lighting Design Campus with Luca Moreni, LightScene Studio, introducing Naval Lighting Design: Space, Materials, Perception, going deeper in the practical involvement of lighting design in defining superyacht spaces and atmospheres.
Last but not least, Matteo Dal Lago from Dalcnet/Digimax held a technical presentation on Lensvector and the innovation related to light manipulation tools.
Our guests were involved in a debate on all the topics we discussed during the 2 sessions of the LDC23, with our great satisfaction in perceiving their interest, involvement and curiosity.
This was our event mission, and we dare say it was accomplished!
Already thinking about next year edition, we would like to thank all keynote speakers and guests for their time with us and their professional involvement.
